Itinerary

As you enter the gates of Renishaw, the historic grandeur of the Jacobean manor unfolds before your eyes. Home to the Sitwell family for over 400 years, the hall exudes a timeless elegance that fuses the past with the present.

On arrival morning tea or coffee with biscuits will be served. At a pre-arranged time we will make our way back to the restaurant for a light lunch of homemade soup and fresh crusty bread and tea or coffee.

The Hall & Guided Tour

The Hall is a lived-in family home and therefore only guided tours are permitted.

Renishaw Hall embodies the unique heritage of the Sitwell family, which generations have come to admire through a shared passion for art and literature. All tour guides are seasoned in their knowledge and Sitwell story-telling which they will share as they guide us around the ground floor of the hall to see the magnificent art, family heirlooms and dozens of grand portraits.

After the tour you might want to visit the Sitwell museum which tells the story of the family that has owned Renishaw Hall for almost 400 years.

The Gardens

For garden enthusiasts the Renishaw Gardens are a horticultural haven, featuring rare plant species, cascading water features, and sculpted greenery. Wander along the meandering pathways, breathe in the fragrant air, and discover the enchanting surprises hidden within this oasis.

From the tranquil Italianate garden with its ornate statues to the vibrant colours of the stunning Flower Garden, each step unveils a new facet of natural beauty. Take a stroll through the woodland to the lakes where you can admire the magnificent views beyond.

With the blend of our stunning Italianate gardens, a scenic lake occupied by majestic wildlife and picturesque woodlands to explore, you are never short of opportunities to get lost in nature and beauty at Renishaw.

Renishaw Hall’s vineyards are situated nearby and provide award-winning wines which are on sale in the Visitor Centre and Café. The well-stocked nursery and farm shop will be open and as always, there will be plenty of room on the coach for plant purchases!

Booking your place

The cost for the day is £90 which includes return coach travel from your pick-up point, entry into Renishaw Hall & Gardens with guided house tour, tea or coffee with biscuits on arrival and light lunch.

A non-refundable deposit of £20 per person is payable when booking. Full payment is due 10-weeks before departure.
