Simon and Angela Ward – Case Study

The couple

Simon and Angela Ward have fallen in love with Wisteria Tours’ coach holidays.

The couple, from Church Stretton in Shropshire, booked their first two trips with the firm last year and enjoyed them so much they already have two more booked for this year.

The company, run by sisters Sue and Jacky Burnell alongside their mother Jackie, specialises in tailor-made tours which cater for everybody and put the emphasis on the personal touch.

For the Wards, last year’s trips to Hampton Court Palace and Buckingham Palace in August and Luxembourg in September, were the first time theyhad enjoyed a coach holiday.

But such was the success, they are now heading off to Inverness with Wisteria Tours in June and Paris in September.

The couple said: “From the moment you step on the coach you’re looked after and in good hands with Jacky and Sue; they have an instinctive way of ensuring everyone is catered for.

“The experience we have had with them has been excellent – we simply can’t praise them enough.”

The trips of a lifetime

The Wards first heard about Wisteria Tours after picking up a brochure while having lunch in Shrewsbury.

Simon said: “We leafed through the brochure and both picked out the Palaces trip because neither of us had been to either Hampton Court or Buckingham Palace.

“And then the idea of a trip to Luxembourg piqued our interest because it’s a bit unusual so we decided to book both of them.”

The couple said both trips were absolutely fantastic – and the Wisteria Tours experience second to none.

“From the moment we were first picked up, everything was just right. The Lakeside coach was very comfortable and our driver on both trips, Chris, just excellent. He was so professional and friendly.

“Jacky and Sue seemed to instinctively understand what people needed and what their requirements were and made sure everybody was looked after and comfortable.

“The itineraries on both trips were very well planned. You could tell a huge amount of effort had gone into making sure the timings worked and that everything was high quality.

“We were able to relax from the start because we knew everything had been covered and we didn’t have to worry about anything.”

Angela suffers from a complex food allergy but said Sue and Jacky took all the stress out of travelling.

“I have a nasty allergy which can cause medical problems but I didn’t have to worry about it at all because Sue and Jacky took care of everything.”

The Luxembourg trip included guided tours which the couple said were excellent as well as a tour of a winery.

“We felt it was all very good value for money and the fact that it is all done with such a strong personal touch made all the difference.”

Can’t wait until next time

The Wards are now counting down the days until their next trips later this year.

“We’re really looking forward to exploring Inverness and Paris in September should be fantastic.

“We’ll be travelling on Eurostar which is something a little bit different. And that’s the point of Wisteria Tours – they always try to offer up something a bit unique rather than just doing what everybody else does.

“If someone hasn’t been on a coach holiday before, we’d say ‘just do it’.

‘Our experience with Wisteria Tours has been second to none and we can’t wait to get on board with them again.”
