Our last Christmas lunch was at mum’s / Jackie Crick’s ‘retirement’ do in 2019 and with over 50 of us sitting down together it felt like a real festive occasion. Since then we haven’t arranged a big get-together in December so this year we are putting that right.

In March this year we had our first Wisteria Gathering at the historic Grade II listed Prince Rupert Hotel in the heart of Shrewsbury. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, the event was well organised and the homemade cake was excellent. Our experience left us thinking the hotel would be the perfect place for Christmas lunch. And this is what one of our customers thought –

“Thank you for a very pleasurable afternoon. Time to catch up with fellow travellers and meet new ones. The venue was perfect and the opportunity to have a Christmas meal there should not be missed.”

So, this year we are keeping it local and have booked The Royalist Restaurant, exclusively for Wisteria Tours, at The Prince Rupert Hotel.

On arrival there will be a welcome drink in The Lounge. Served in the atmospheric Royalist Restaurant there will be a 3 course lunch, with 3 choices per course and dietary requirements will be catered for. Finally, we return to The Lounge to enjoy tea or coffee, if you still have room!

This promises to be a relaxing and fun seasonal occasion and we look forward to welcoming both new and current customers.

Here’s the plan for the afternoon

On arrival you will be greeted by Jacky, Sue and Jackie from Wisteria Tours and invited to take a seat in The Lounge. A selection of drinks will be available and there will be time to sit down and catch up with friends before we go to The Royalist Restaurant for lunch.

The hotel is currently finalising its festive menu. Lunch will be 3 courses, and each course will have 3 choices. You will be asked to make your choices in advance and let us know of any dietary requirements.

Tables will be set for between 6-10 guests and please feel free to sit anywhere. You will be given a name card to take to your seat which will remind you of your menu choices and help staff with serving meals efficiently.

After lunch we can retire to The Lounge for a pot of tea or coffee with mints to finish.

We are already looking forward to it.

We will confirm the exact timings for arrival, lunch and departure 10 days before the event.

Booking your place

The cost for 3 course lunch, including a welcome drink, with tea or coffee and mints is £48 per person.

A non-refundable deposit of £20 per person is payable when booking. Full payment is due 10 weeks beforehand.
