Sunday, Kew Botanical Gardens evening light trail

Join us for the most wonderful time of the year at Kew Botanical Gardens as their magical winter trail lights up the evening skies.

This botanical world will be brimming with seasonal cheer as twinkling lights and seasonal sounds fill the air. Discover glittering tunnels of light, dancing lakeside reflections and trees drenched in jewel-like colour as you follow the well marked route around the garden.

Arriving at our hotel around 13.00 we will check-in before meeting up for a 3-course buffet lunch. After lunch there will be plenty of time to put on lots of warm layers before the coach departs for Kew.

The well marked trail can take about 1.5 hours to walk around, including stopping for refreshments and time to stop and enjoy the various displays.

To add an extra flourish to the Christmas at Kew experience, visitors can pick up a treat from a selection of independent street food vendors along the route as well as stopping for refreshments at Kew’s onsite cafes and restaurants.

Monday, Windsor Castle

Windsor has not announced its plans for Christmas 2024 and we will update this information as soon as we know more.

The Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Founded by William the Conqueror in the 11th century, it has since been the home of 40 monarchs.

The Castle includes the State Apartments that are used today by the Royal Family, the historical rooms that were built for Charles II and private apartments created for George IV. There are many famous, must-see moments within these spectacular rooms, like the colossal Waterloo Chamber, magnificent Crimson Drawing Room and impressive Grand Staircase. With so much royal history and splendour it is possible to walk straight past some amazing treasures, so here are a few to look out for.

St George’s Chapel within the grounds of Windsor Castle is one of the finest examples of Gothic architecture in England and is a must-see during our visit. Construction of the present Chapel began in 1475 under the reign of Edward IV. When visiting make sure you look up and admire the stone ceiling, which was added by Henry VII.

Your ticket includes a complimentary multimedia guide. An audio-descriptive tour in English is available for blind and partially-sighted visitors.

Booking your place

Two people sharing a twin or double room is £367 per person. A supplement for sole occupancy of a double room is £31.

£100 non-refundable deposit is payable on booking. Full payment is due 10 weeks before departure.

Travel arrangements

Departing Shrewsbury 10.00 on Sunday 01 December and arriving back in Shrewsbury at 18.00 on Monday. All timings are provisional and will be confirmed 7-days before travel.

We have an ‘All Weather Policy’ which means the tour will go ahead come rain or shine unless the Met Office announces it is unsafe to travel. You are advised to check the weather forecast and bring appropriate clothing and footwear.

Wheelchairs, mobility scooters and buggies

Christmas at Kew is presented in the natural landscape. Whilst every effort is made to make the trail fully accessible, by its very nature it will cover some difficult terrain with a number of varying gradients. These areas may be challenging during wet weather.

Wheelchairs are available to borrow on a first come first served basis, these cannot be reserved. Please note, Kew does not currently offer advance booking of mobility scooters for Christmas at Kew.
